This year, the 17th edition of the Global Gender Gap Index benchmarks gender parity across 146 countries, providing a basis for robust cross-country analysis.
The global gender gap score in 2023 for all 146 countries included in this edition stands at 68.4% closed. The overall score changed from 68.1% to 68.4%, an improvement of 0.3 percentage points compared to last year’s edition.
HOWEVER, despite regular enthusiastic reports about improved gender equality in Switzerland, the latest Gender Gap Report of the World Economic Forum shows that we have dropped a total of 8 ranks and are now only in 21st place!
It is important to work on improving the framework NOW in order to achieve a work-life balance and to break down outdated role models and unconscious prejudices.
